When tradition meets contemporary, the results are mesmerizing. Bahrain is a testimony to the past and future coming alive as one. The Ultimate Bahrain Tour combines the Desert Oasis experience with the City Sightseeing tour to let you experience the quintessential Bahraini feel.
We begin our tour at 9 AM at the Bab Al Bahrain to appreciate the historic architecture before making our way to our first site - A’Ali Burial Mounds - to recollect memories from a time long before us and snap pictures at the oil fields, as a testimony of the Bahraini economic development.
Let’s proceed to Sakhir where we say hello to the desert’s best friend – the camel –at the Camel Farm which houses the royal camels and falcons. After greeting the friendly camels, we move on to admire the native Bahraini species at the Al Areen Wildlife Reserve, also known for housing magnificent creatures from Africa and South Asia.
After the wildlife reserve, we proceed to the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) for behind-the-scenes access to the Bahrain Formula One Circuit.
Satisfy your hunger pangs with a traditional Bahraini lunch at Haji’s Café which is one of the oldest traditional restaurants in the city.
After a satisfying traditional meal, we head to the Bahrain World Trade Centre – futuristic sail-shaped wind turbine powered towers which count for the best photo opportunity.
After capturing the contemporary spirit of Bahrain, we proceed to the magnificent ‘Masjid al-Fatih’ or the Al Fateh Grand Mosque to gain a deeper insight into the Arabic culture and admire the beautiful Kulic calligraphy and fiberglass dome that ornaments the biggest mosque in the world.
To continue our historical quest, we make our way to the Bahrain National Museum to immerse ourselves into the rich history and culture of Bahrain which dates back to 6000 years.
Next, let’s head to the Muharraq old houses to revive tradition and take a bite into the delectable Bahraini ‘Halwa’ at one of the authentic sweet shops at the Muharraq souq.
