Using the usual medium of glass, artist Jamal Al Yousif seeks to find an intimate and personal connection with his audience; bitter-sweetness of nostalgia as his muse. Though glass is brittle and fragile, it reflects his attempt at preserving the ‘unconscious warmth one gets from nostalgia’. In a bid to hold onto his nostalgic feeling, AlYousif hopes to hold onto the memories and the feelings they bring to life within him, as they surely fade away with him. AlYousif is renowned for creating a multitude of environmental exhibitions, as well as is involved with creating a large number of art spaces in Bahrain, across the GCC, Japan, and in Washington D.C.
