International Museum Day is held every year on May 18 to promote the role of museums around the world, creating unique, enjoyable and free activities around a specific theme that changes every year and that is at the heart of the international museum community’s preoccupations. In 2018, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities will celebrate the special day with a host of events including the opening of the renovated Hall of Graves. The remodelling of the permanent exhibition gallery aims to introduce an innovative exhibition design to improve the interpretation of the collection and to enhance visitor engagement and participation.
